Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning!

This contest is open to all students in Pre-K through 5th grade.

Finalists from GSES have an opportunity to move on to the local, state, and national level!

Art comes in many forms! Check
out all of the different categories you can choose from:
Students are welcome to enter as many categories as they choose. The top four submissions from each category will be presented to the Huntsville Council PTA for judging. Prior to, GSES will conduct its own judging process by outside, non-bias judges to determine the top four from each category.

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT THE ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
All PTA Reflections program entries are judged on three criteria:
1. Interpretation of Theme (20 pts.)
2. Creativity (10 pts.)
3. Technique (10 pts.)
Every entry MUST have an "artist's statement" explaining the student's thoughts behind their work. It should be 10-100 words in length. Submissions without an artist's statement will not be accepted.

DO NOT put your student's name on their work! Their name will be on the entry packet. (Example: do not sign an art piece)

PLEASE bring all physical art pieces to the school to be photographed for submission. All other categories must be submitted digitally to gsesreflections@gmail.com. Remember to email your contest submission AND entry form.

There will be a local awards ceremony later this fall, where visual art submissions will be displayed.
